Aaah... there's somethin' I could talk about all day. Guildnames.
First of all, I'd like to congratulate you to such a cool guildname. You're like the guards - the KEEPERS - of, y'know, the most important thing. Honor.
You're like this cool alliance team, with cool humans, and cool nightelves. The last bastion of the alliance defense, protecting the weak for the onslaught of the horde. You like... don't wanna fight, but you HAVE to, because the horde are so vicous! But once you do start fighting, you're still the elites of the elites, the coolest of the cool... hell, you're the Guards of Honor! (tm)
That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it? The true... 'essence' of you guildname.
I bet you've got at least two guys named Aragorn, and three named Legolas. The guild avrage age is probably 13-14 and the old experienced ones are 15-16, who thinks this "Guard of Honor" and legolas crap is a litte childish - but when they come to think of it - still rather neat, cause Aragorn really DOES look cool in "the lord of the rings" when he kicks ass.
You know what you need? Chuck Norris, or maybe Steven Seagal in your ranks. They would make it look even more cheesy and pumped up heroic "we're so cool, cuz we're the heroz that only fight cuz we have to but still, like, kick ass"
Now, what I can't understand, is how you would even THINK of commenting his guildname, when you're in a guild with the JACKASS name "Guards of Honor".
Although, beleve it or not, there ARE guilds with even... 'better' and 'cooler' names then yours.
For example: "Wolf and Respect". I mean... say it: "Wolf and Respect". Now the only thing I'm buzzed about is the fact that I didn't think of it first :(
Now how did they come up with that name?
I have a theory.
Here we are... ten fifteen year old boys. What should we call our guild? Pride of the Alliance? Damn... taken. Guards of Honor? Damn, no luck there either. Last hope of the motherland? Damn... taken by a horde guild! Hmm... it's gotta be somethin' cool... WITH... somethin' cool. Like... Pride/Guards/Holy/Dark/Righteous with Alliance/Predators/Assassins/Honor/Justice.
Hey! How about we do somethin' no one else has done before? We take this COOL animal name! Wolf! I mean, think about it, Lone wolfs, they're always cool, and you know...cool. The cool guy in movies is often named "Wolf"! Yeah, "Wolf" is great! And second part of the guildname? Well... oh, I know, "Respect"! That's like, cool. And you know, we're cool.
Now how do we sum them up? Ah, let's just take an "and". "Wolf and Respect". Yeah that name kicks horde ass!
I've heard from some people that it's just two guilds "wolf somethin'" that merged with "Respect somethin'". But I refuse to beleve that. My theory is much more realistic.
Now I've given it some thought... and I came up with a name almost as cool.
So, the first thing we need? Two cool things... the first should be a cool animal, and the second should be (how the hell do you say this in english?) abstract? Now the most important thing of all, is that these two words should have *nothing* what so ever to do with each other. The more STUPID, the better. Then you just combine the two with somethin' in the middle. If it doesn't work grammaticly, it's a plus.
So, my first word, was after some thinking: "Hawk". That's a cool animal. You know... majestic and brutal. But for the second word? That's tricky. After minutes of thinkin' I came to the conclusion that there IS no better word then "Respect". It's just gineous!
Crap... I'll have to really think about this. But I beleve that I came up with the next best thing. "Holy". All the cool paladins are like, holy. If you're a holy warrior, then you're a cool warrior. You're like the fighter of justice and Righteousness!
And then I just combine them with somethin' that'd make my 'ol english teecher twist and turn: "and". Just "and". It's like "meat and bread". It ALWAYS works! You just put two great words together with an "and"!
So the cool guild would be "Hawk and Holy"! It'd even be a great shotage for it: "HH" or "HaH"!
So I'm now removing my trademark off the guildname, and thus allowing alliance side to use this great guildname! Although if you don't wanna copy it totally, you could try "Holy Hawks and Respect". That's really cool too. Although then "Wolf and Respect" might get cranky :/
But thinking of the great, great guildname it would prove - it just might be worth it.
